Gene Stus has become a legend on the American Senior Bowling Tour. He has won 10 Professional Bowling Association National Senior Championships.
Stus, who has bowled 39 perfect 300 games and eight 800 series, was the first senior ever to bowl a perfect game on national television. In 1992, bowling writers named him the senior player of the year. The next year, the PBA named him the senior player of the year. In 1993, 1994, 1995, and 1998, he was voted onto the All-American Senior Team.
Stus was part of the doubles championship team for the American Bowling Association in 1992, he won the Senior National Championship Tournament three times and was inducted into the Greater Detroit Bowling Association Hall of Fame in 1995.
Stus, who continues to excel on the senior tour, is employed as a supervisor for General Motors.
Stus was nominated to the Taylor Sports and Recreation Hall of Fame by Councilman and fellow Taylor Hall of Famer Greg Bzura, the founder and director of the Junior League World Series of baseball.
